The function of the Authorize Email Source is to group together sources that are known to you.It changes the grouping from White to Blue in the details screen. 

After clicking the link you will be asked to label this source - you can keep it the same as the reverse DNS (system default) or you can identify specifics about the sending account. 

Once labeled you can see that the source are now grouped.
